Platform Media’s knockout content campaign for the EFL has been recognised by The Drum

Platform Media has been nominated for Commercial Campaign of the Year by The Drum Awards – Online Media, a leading awards event for media and marketers.

Tasked by the EFL to raise interest in and positive sentiment towards The Carabao Cup and The Papa Johns Trophy – we combined original and high-quality video content with our bespoke distribution model to deliver huge reach and engagement on both EFL’s owned channels and via carefully selected partner publishers.

Hero content was broadcast to 90,000 fans at Wembley

The quality of our work was evidenced not only in the core campaign results, but in the live and broadcast exposure afforded to our video content, with hero content broadcast to 90,000 fans at Wembley during the Carabao Cup Final and, separately, on both ITV and Sky Sports News.

Reflecting on the success of the campaign, David Newby, Head of Markerting, EFL said: “We’ve been extremely pleased with how our relationship with Platform Media has gone during the 2022/23 season. We wanted them to amplify the many positive stories surrounding both competitions and create & distribute engaging content for both new and existing audiences. The content Platform Media have created has helped us explore new and creative ways to engage as wide an audience as possible in a highly saturated football space on social channels and has perfectly complemented the content we produce on our own EFL channels.
