Platform Media, William Hill and the Football Writers’ Association have teamed up to produce a brand-new football podcast.
High Press features reporter and presenter Alison Bender and a revolving cast of some of the best and best-loved football journalists to dissect the major talking points in today’s game.
The first episode is live now on William Hill’s YouTube channel. The first episode of LDN to NFL, a brand-new podcast hosted by Michael ‘Mac’ Griffiths and Christian Scotland-Williamson, is out now.
Produced by Platform Media for the NFL, the show is aimed 16-25-year-olds. Stats and deep-level analysis are put to one side, as former Love Island contestant and personal trainer Griffiths, and former rugby union and NFL pro CSW will be joined by influencers from sport, gaming and beyond in a celebration of gridiron’s unique and uniquely engaging culture. Troy Deeney is the guest for episode 1. The English footballer discusses how he came to be a fan of the ‘other’ football and – in what will be a regular slot on the show – takes on Mac in a game of NFL Madden. The show is available to watch now on NFL UK’s YouTube channel.
Platform Media has also taken over the production of another official NFL show, The Jason & Osi Podcast, adapting the existing format for the 2023 season. London-based hosts, former NFL players Jason Bell and Osi Umenyiora, are well-known to UK fans for their punditry work since retirement. This new partnership extends Platform Media’s association with the NFL following a pre-season content distribution campaign for the New York Jets last month. The latest episode, the first produced by Platform Media, can be listened to here or wherever you get your podcasts.
Commenting on the partnership, Taylor Barr, Commercial Strategy Lead at Platform Media, said: “We’re delighted to be working with the NFL at such an exciting time for the sport in the UK. The NFL’s ongoing commitment to growing the game perfectly aligns with Platform Media’s expertise in producing innovative, authentic content that enables brands, rights holders and governing bodies to reach and engage new audiences.”

Platform Media has created a series of social-first videos for major commercial insurance provider and RFU partner, Allianz. The content – a mixture of challenge videos and interviews – will be posted across Allianz’s social channels to promote their partnership with RFU and provide rugby fans with an insight into England’s training camp that took place ahead of their departure to France for the World Cup.
England players Joe Marchant, Will Stuart (both part of the tournament squad) and Charlie Ewels feature in the videos, while Red Roses scrum-half and star of The Good, The Scaz & The Rugby, Mo Hunt, also appears as a host. The content was captured at Pennyhill Park, England’s base for their pre-World Cup training camp, and the final assets will target rugby audiences across YouTube and Instagram.
In addition to highlighting Allianz’s association with the RFU and the build-up to the World Cup, the video concepts developed by Platform Media were also informed by Allianz’s MoveNow initiative, which aims to get young people back into sport.
The first piece of content, published on the opening day of the Rugby World Cup, saw Marchant, Stuart and Ewels attempt to decode rugby jargon in the ‘What Did You Say’ challenge. Get in touch to find out what Platform Media can do for you and your content
NFL side the New York Jets have appointed Platform Media to deliver a distribution and amplification campaign ahead of the 2023 season, which begins on 8 September. The campaign focuses on driving reach and engagement with the Jets’ pre-season content in the UK, and will see Platform Media joining forces with publishers and communities from our distribution network to find the biggest and most receptive audiences for the AFC East Division side’s digital content.
Pubity Sport and GiveMeSport will post a selection of short format, light-hearted content on their Instagram accounts including two competitions.
Video creator and social media star Makai Fray is the face of several challenge-based pieces, including the first pieces of content that went live yesterday, which show Jets’ players trying to guess the meaning of various British slang terms and the pronunciation of UK towns and cities.
Underpinning the campaign is Platform Media’s experience of how to optimise every element of delivery and performance across social. From understanding the strengths and weaknesses of different editorial formats and post types, to best practice for artwork specs and competition mechanisms, we ensure content has the very best chance of finding the biggest and best audiences.

Platform Media have teamed up with the English Football League (EFL) for the second year running to raise the profile of the Carabao Cup and the EFL Trophy. Building on the success of last season’s campaign, we will once again create a range of original content, social activations and match highlights to increase the profile of and engagement with the EFL’s two knockout competitions throughout the season. In total more than 70 pieces of content will be created across the two competitions, published on EFL’s own channels and by Platform Media’s partner publishers. For the 2023/24 season we’re teaming up with football communities Pubity Sport, Football Newz and Rising Ballers to bring the excitement of Carabao Cup and EFL Trophy to the biggest and best football audiences. The campaign kicked off yesterday, 8th August, with the first piece of content featuring popular football personality Statman Dave. Our star signing will be helping us preview the first four rounds of the Carabao Cup.
Up Front with Simon Jordan, the podcast collaboration between Platform Media and William Hill launched with a bang seven weeks ago. It soared to the top of the Apple Podcasts sport charts, generated more than four million views and listens in its first three weeks, and has consistently driven the national sports news agenda.
Now, the show has become even bigger – literally. Selected to front a Spotify Out Of Home campaign, digital billboards promoting the podcast are appearing from 15-18 June in London (Leicester Square), Glasgow (St Enoch’s), Cardiff (Super Motion) and Dublin (Green Screen).
Platform Media has teamed up with the English Football League (EFL) to create a video to commemorate Sky Bet’s 10-year association with the EFL and the renewal of their title sponsorship until the end of the 2028/29 season.
Following a season-long assignment to increase interest in The Carabao Cup and The Papa John’s Trophy, and the creation of a video series for both EFL and EA Sports, this latest campaign completes a hat-trick of content-led collaborations between Platform Media and EFL during the 2022/23 season.
Platform Media has been nominated for Commercial Campaign of the Year by The Drum Awards – Online Media, a leading awards event for media and marketers.
Tasked by the EFL to raise interest in and positive sentiment towards The Carabao Cup and The Papa Johns Trophy – we combined original and high-quality video content with our bespoke distribution model to deliver huge reach and engagement on both EFL’s owned channels and via carefully selected partner publishers.
Hero content was broadcast to 90,000 fans at Wembley
The quality of our work was evidenced not only in the core campaign results, but in the live and broadcast exposure afforded to our video content, with hero content broadcast to 90,000 fans at Wembley during the Carabao Cup Final and, separately, on both ITV and Sky Sports News.
Reflecting on the success of the campaign, David Newby, Head of Markerting, EFL said: “We’ve been extremely pleased with how our relationship with Platform Media has gone during the 2022/23 season. We wanted them to amplify the many positive stories surrounding both competitions and create & distribute engaging content for both new and existing audiences. The content Platform Media have created has helped us explore new and creative ways to engage as wide an audience as possible in a highly saturated football space on social channels and has perfectly complemented the content we produce on our own EFL channels.
